Like any normal relationship, Prince William and Kate Middleton have ups and downs. It all started in 2007, when the pair supposedly split up for different reasons, leading to the two going their own ways for a spell – William’s actions apparently shattered Kate’s heart. But, in the end, the two reconciled and maintained their relationship.
Today, 12 years after their wedding in a stunning ceremony at Westminster Abbey, William and Kate have a wonderful family of three children. However, there are always difficulties in a marriage, and while many people believe that nothing could possibly go wrong with a future king and queen combination, this is not the case.
According to a royal specialist, the Prince and Princess of Wales have had marital difficulties. It is not, however, as flawless as one might imagine.
William and Kate married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. Only a few years before, in 2007, it appeared that their love story had come to an end. Some sources even claimed that William and Kate had called it quits for good.

According to several royal analysts, Prince William decided to divorce Kate because he believed the “fun” had gone out of their relationship. Meanwhile, Kate was claimed to be “desperately upset” since she had already planned their future wedding.
William apparently went out to London nightclubs shortly after the split and saw numerous other females.
Kate, of course, was enraged. According to sources, “harsh words” were exchanged as Kate felt “humiliated” by William’s actions. She also had the impression that he was “cheapening her image.”
“It was the first such warning she had dished out over the course of their four-and-a-half-year relationship,” a report cited Express as saying.
“Kate had had enough and exchanged words. One of Kate’s friends stated that she informed William that he was making her seem horrible. She has dealt with ladies pouring themselves at her partner for years, and for a time, she thought it amusing and even charming.”
Others, however, contend that neither William nor Kate Middleton had entire control over their divorce. William’s stepmother, now-Queen Camilla, had a key influence, according to royal analyst Christopher Anderson, author of William and Kate: A Royal Love Story.
Anderson said to The Daily Beast that Camilla might have been a driving force in the separation.
“I was in London at the time of [William and Kate’s] divorce.” Everyone felt it was just a matter of time until William asked Kate to marry him, so I was utterly taken aback. “And then people started telling me Camilla was the one behind it,” Anderson explained in 2016.
Expert believes Kate Middleton recognized she was carrying a “awful burden” before marrying William.
Speculation about what transpired between William and Kate in 2007 resurfaces on occasion. Judy Wade, a former royal writer for Hello! Magazine, revealed a fresh notion last year.
According to Wade, Kate began to grasp how drastic a lifestyle adjustment becoming a senior Royal Family member would entail.
“She could have realized what a terrible burden she would have taken on.” “Marrying a royal is a life sentence,” Wade explained.
At the time, William was stationed with the Household Cavalry in Dorset, while Kate was in London. As a result, they spent a lot of time apart. William and Kate discussed their divorce in their engagement interview.
“We did split up for a bit,” William said during the interview. “But that was just, we were both very young, it was at university, we were both finding ourselves and such, and being different characters and such.”
“I think I, at the time, wasn’t very happy about it, but actually, it made me a stronger person,” she said.
“You learn things about yourself that you didn’t know before.” Or, when you’re younger, I believe you may get completely obsessed with a romance. I cherished that time for myself as well, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.”
The royal couple, Prince William and Princess Kate, have become a symbol of the modern monarchy. While King Charles has been credited with modernizing the monarchy, such as restricting the number of working royals, the Prince and Princess of Wales represent a new generation.
The’strong spark’ between Prince William and Kate Middleton
Kate has been seen wearing both expensive designer apparel and more budget labels, making her more approachable and, in the long run, more appealing and “common.” It’s good for the monarchy as a whole because it’s perceived as progressive and, perhaps most crucially, humanizes her.
William and Kate have also chosen to give their children as “normal a childhood as possible,” and by residing at Adelaide Cottage, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are able to experience life in a “normal” house, despite the property being a wonderful, large location.
Royal weddings are intended to be eternal. William and Kate Middleton, like any other couple, have had their ups and downs. Getting meaningful time with each other must be difficult given their busy schedules.

In 2021, royal analyst Duncan Larcombe spoke with OK! Magazine about Prince William and Kate’s date evenings and how they assure quality time together.
He also explains why their spark remains so powerful.
“Kate and William’s relationship blossomed when they were at St Andrew’s University, doing normal student-y things and just enjoying each other’s company,” says Duncan.
“As a future king, you’d think William would whisk Kate away to Paris for the day or treat her to an extravagant lunch at a top restaurant, but they’ve never been like that.” They’re more of a fish and chips on the seashore pair, as seen by their recent return to St Andrew’s for an engagement.”

When the Covid-19 limitations were relaxed in the UK, William and Kate took advantage of the opportunity to spend some quality time together on the town.
For example, when they visit Kate’s parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales take use of the fact that George, Charlotte, and Louis’ grandparents are close.
As Larcombe noted, Prince William and Kate Middleton aren’t like frills. They like to spend time together in a more “normal” setting.
“While the doting grandparents do the babysitting, William and Kate have been able to slip to the local pub for a night out, just the two of them,” the royal insider said.
“I’m told it was done to commemorate William’s birthday in June [in 2021].” Another favorite activity of the couple is for William to prepare bolognese for Kate as they sit on the sofa and watch TV. It takes them back to their college days, when they first met and their long-lasting relationship began.”
While William and Kate portray themselves as a happy marriage, things aren’t always as they appear. Just a few months ago, William and Kate attended Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein’s wedding to his bride, Saudi Arabian royal Rajwa al-Seif, in Amman, Jordan.
The wedding guests then got the opportunity to meet the newlyweds and wish them well for the future. Cameras were everywhere, and they recorded the moment Prince William and Kate Middleton were about to greet the bride.
Kate’s “rude” gesture from William
Prince William took the floor first, and after a few comments, it was Kate’s turn to speak. However, William thought it was time to move on after a few seconds. While she was chatting with Princess Rajwa and appeared restless, William motioned to Kate, pressing her to walk quicker. Furthermore, according to stories, the future king instructed her, “chop, chop.”
Of fact, William merely wanted Kate to hurry up. However, his statements have prompted numerous royal specialists to criticize his treatment of his wife.
Judy James, a body language specialist, told the Express that she didn’t like what she saw. She stated that it was not one of William’s “finest moments when it comes to either body language or words.”
“While he has clearly moved on from the meet and greet with the bride and groom, Kate stands talking to the bride in an animated and very friendly way,” he stated. “She is not causing a ‘log jam’ [by] holding up the queue and the next guests are still talking to the groom, so there appears to be no logical reason for William to hurry his wife along, especially as she only adds a few seconds to the conversation.”
Furthermore, James remarked that the hand movements were “bad enough” She kept congratulating Kate for disregarding William’s conduct. She went on to say, “It has to be said that his behavior is overly dominant here, with his critical parent behavior putting her firmly in the implied role of a naughty child.”
The prince was “rude,” according to the body language specialist.
According to royal analyst Tom Quinn, William and Kate have been known inside the royal family not to want to seem as “the perfect couple that everyone else should try and emulate.”
The marriage of William and Kate is “not as perfect as it may appear.”
The author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, speaking to Fox, explained that Prince William and Kate Middleton, like any other couple, have days when they are “really, really cross with each other,” as well as days when they don’t even talk to each other.
The Prince and Princess of Wales want to be viewed as regular people, and they face the same challenges as any other parent, such as having to work, dealing with the stress of having children, and so on.
Although they appear to have everything in order, Tom Quinn contends that they, like many healthy spouses, have disagreements. They do, however, know how to compromise and make ordinary life function.
“From what I’ve heard, it’s not as calm. “It’s not as flawless as it appears,” Quinn told Express. “But William adopts the manners and the way of behaving of his grandmother, and Kate is very good at not complaining and adopting.”
“Both of them have stuck to what made the late Queen such a remarkable monarch,” the royal expert concluded. They almost never complain. And when they do, it is always measured.”
Quinn went on to say that William and Kate also argue. While other couples “throw heavy vases at each other,” the Prince and Princess of Wales “throw cushions,” which are “always kept under control.”
“It’s like a Jane Austen novel”
Quinn spoke on Prince William and Kate’s marriage in an interview with Fox in March 2023. They have lovely – and cheeky – nicknames for each other, but it’s “not all sweetness.”
“Kate and William may appear to be quite peaceful people. However, this is not always the case. Because William and Kate are always surrounded by [palace aides], this is a major source of stress for them. “It’s like a Jane Austen novel,” said Tom Quinn.
“Kate is very much the calm one,” he said. “William is the one who gets a little carried away. In Harry’s book, we see an illustration of this… Kate, on the other hand, is quite calm. ‘Let’s not stir things up,’ she says as she pours oil into turbulent waters.”
