In the course of one’s work, all sorts of things can happen, it’s part of the “game.” Some days tasks go smoothly without a hitch, while other days, nothing seems to go right. These are just “bad days,” and most workweeks become a mundane routine hardly worth mentioning.
We can guarantee that what happened to the man in this story is a once-in-a-lifetime event, something that is unlikely to occur twice. It all happened within a few hours. On a cold and wet evening in Michigan, a three-year-old girl managed to sneak out of her room and ended up right in the street. The little girl was wandering through the parking lots of Grand Rapids, curious about who knows what. Her parents hadn’t noticed a thing.
The little girl was scared and, most importantly, cold, dressed only in a lightweight T-shirt, her diaper, and a pair of short socks.
Fortunately, a man doing his job noticed this “unusual” presence out of the corner of his eye. A pizza delivery driver saves a 3-year-old from the cold — Gabe Botello was delivering pizzas in that same neighborhood and had just made a delivery in his car. For a moment, he thought he saw the silhouette of a baby crawling in the darkness of the street.
As a responsible father of seven, he became alarmed and immediately decided to investigate this unusual situation by interrupting his work. And fortunately, he had indeed found the little girl near a factory on the other side of the road, huddled between two concrete walls in a loading dock.
