Do you remember seeing a man who looked like a cat on TV a lot in the 2000s? This American man tried to look like a tiger by getting a lot of plastic surgery and other treatments done. The results were shocking.
Dennis Avner, a coder from Michigan who is from the Huron and Lakota Indian tribes, tried to look like a cat, which is his tribe’s spirit animal. Even though his totem name was “Stalking Cat” and he wanted to be called that, the media called him “Cat Man.”
Avner had several facial surgeries so that he could look like a tiger. Some of these were breaking his upper lip, changing the shape of his eyebrows and hairline, and rearranging his teeth to look like fangs. Stalking Cat had tattoos all over his body and face, and he wore yellow contacts with a cat’s eye on them. He even put a beard in his upper lip and held it in place with pins.
Dennis got a lot of media attention because of how different he looked and how hard it was for him to get that way. He was often on TV shows and talked to by interviewers. Stalking Cat said that he never kept track of how much his surgeries cost. He did them to grow spiritually and didn’t care about how much they cost him financially.
It’s almost hard to find a picture of Cat-Man before he changed online. Avner did a good job of hiding how he looked before. But there is a picture of him as a child where he looks like an innocent boy with beautiful eyes.
